The second memorial trip to Thailand for Norwegian relatives of those killed in last December’s tsunami will take place on 3 to 9 October 2005, with around 160 Norwegians participating.
The Norwegian parliament has approved the government sponsoring the trip where a memorial ceremony takes place on Friday 7 October.
The Norwegian government’s foreign ministry is planning the trip in collaboration with a national support group, official Norwegian representatives in Phuket, the Minister of Health, the police and the Seaman’s Church. Norwegian authorities will, like for the first trip that took place in May, charter a jet and fly the relatives to Phuket and pay the entire bill for the trip.
