Save the Children Norway has provided US$ 91,400 to produce magazines for children, in order to encourage them to read from an early age.
The memorandum was inked on 17 December 2002 at the Lao Youth Union by representative of Save the Children Norway Mr Beng Ajiro and Head of the Lao Youth Union Mr Somsouk Souksavad.
According to the agreement, the money will be spent on training children and buying equipment for producing magazines for children. The project will run for three years, commencing in December 2002.
