Sweden’s Navy Chief visited Singapore

The Inspector-General of the Royal Swedish Navy, Rear-Admiral Jorgen Ericsson, paid in early February a 4-day introductory visit to Singapore.
     During his visit, Rear-Admiral Jorgen Ericsson called on Education Minister and Second Defence Minister Rear-Admiral Teo Chee Hean. A statementm issued by the Defence Ministry said that Rear-Admiral Ericsson’s visit underscored the good defence relations between Sweden and Singapore.
     The navies of the two countries have according to the statement extensive interactions including an annual mine countermeasure exchange programme and regular exchanges in the area of defence technology co-operation.
     The Swedish navy chief also visited Changi Naval Base and the Defence Science and Technology Agency.
