New Norwegian Priest in Thailand

The new Norwegian priest in Thailand will be Mrs. Hilde Sirnes from Lista near Farsund in Norway. She replaces Mrs. Gro Haaversen Barth, who left for Norway by the end of June this year.
      Hilde Sirnes is currently visiting Thailand until 16 September together with her predecessor to meet her likewise new colleague at the Scandinavian Church, Lennart Hamark and his wife Lis and otherwise prepare herself for the assignment.
      “I have been working as a family councellor for the past ten years and had actually applied for another position when I was contacted by the Norwegian Seamens’ Mission and encouraged to apply for this job,” says Hilde Sirnes who is now looking very much forward to serve the Scandinavian community in Thailand – in particular of course the Norwegian residents as well as the increasing number of Norwegian tourists visiting Thailand.
      Hilde Sirnes is 38 and will be accompanied by her husband Finn Kydland and their two sons, 4 year old Ferdinand and 2 year old Frede.
     Finn Kydland is currently teacher at a youth college in Norway and will during their posting in Bangkok be part-time employed at the Scandinavian Church as well.
     Hilde Sirnes and her family will arrive Bangkok Wednesday 8 October to take up their duties immediately thereafter.
