New webmaster for www.norcham.or.th

The Swedish IT company Vision House Co., Ltd. recently won the contract to be webmaster of www.norcham.or.th – the website of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. Vision House won the contract following a closed bidding round against the current webmaster Scand-Media Corp., Ltd. and the Norwegian design company Too Small Co., Ltd.
      The new contract out sources not only of the maintenance of the website, it also transfers to the webmaster the responsible on his own initiative continuously to develop the site to be at the forefront of website technology as well as source a considerable amount of news to be uploaded several times per week. Producing a weekly newsletter is also part of the new contract. Only the selling of advertisements on the website will remain the responsibility of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce.
      The current website – – was created two years ago by Scand-Media Corp., Ltd and launched in December 2001. The content was maintained by the Chamber through emails to the webmaster with news requested to be published on the site. With the gradual introduction of a new visual identity program for the Chamber designed by Too Small Co., Ltd., the website had for some time been in need of at least a major design overhaul to express this new identity.
      The new www.norcham.or.th is expected to be launched in mid November this year. It complements the two other media utilized by the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in its communication with members and others. These are the quarterly magazine Thai-Norwegian Business Review, featuring articles with relevant and interesting Thai and Norwegian business content and the Yearbook & Membership Directory Norway in Thailand published once a year.
      The Thai-Norwegian Business Review was launched in May 2003 as a replacement of the Chamber’s previous publication, The Pamphlet, which has been published since 1997. It is edited by a committee appointed by the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, the Norwegian Trade Council and the Royal Norwegian Embassy, Bangkok, and is currently headed by Managing Director, Asia Mr. Erik Knive, Norconsult Telematics.
      The Yearbook & Membership Directory Norway in Thailand contains details on the products and services of each corporate member of the chamber as well as contact details on all individual members. Each edition furthermore gives a brief overview of the past year’s development in external trade between Thailand and Norway as well as a review of the past year’s activities within the Thai-Norwegian business community.
      The latest edition of “Norway in Thailand 2003-2004” was recently published. The booklet is available for sale by the Thai-Norwegian Chamber’s office as well as by the publisher, Scand-Media Corp., Ltd.
