Lennart Linnér new ambassador to Indonesia

The Swedish government has appointed Director Lennart Linnér as new ambassador in Jakarta, Indonesia.
     Prior to this, Lennart Linnér was Assistant Head of the Americas Department. He has also worked at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ European Security Policy Department and what was previously called the Policy Planning Section.
     At the Ministry of Defence he worked with security policy issues. Linnér has served in Ottawa, Pretoria and Beirut. In 1997-98, Lennart Linnér acted as coordinator for foreign ministry participation in the Defence Commission’s work on the development and renewal of total defence.
     During the Swedish Presidency of the EU, Linnér was project manager for the Göteborg summit meeting between the EU and the USA in July 2001.
