Norway shows off environmental technology at Entech Pollutec Asia

Norwegian Trade Council (NTC), Bangkok was representing Norwegian companies within the environmental sector at Entech Pollutec Asia 2003, which took place at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok from 24 to 28 July 2003.      The exhibition was officially opened by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Prapat Panyachadluk, together with Permanent Secretary Dr. Plodprasop Suraswadi.      After the opening ceremony, Mr. Ugris Prinyagul, marketing adviser at NTC Bangkok made a brief presentation to the VIPs about Sea Watch and Metropole Watch projects of Norwegian company Oceanor. The presentation led to an invitation to setting up a meeting on what Norway can offer within the environmental sector.      “That was worth the whole exhibition that we got this opportunity to meet directly with the ministry,” says Mr. Prinyagul. “This gives a golden opportunity to present more of Norwegian technology and product within this field.”      After four hectically days we have to follow up a least 30 requests, says Commercial Counsellor Ivar Hoff.      “I hope to have more Norwegian companies represented here next year, because this was just great. We even met people from China, Singapore, India and the Philippines to whom we explained that they had to make contact with our regional offices in their countries,” he adds.      “Norway has a lot to offer and now it’s up to us to convince the companies in Norway that they have to come to this part of the world to make business.”
