Norden Shipping Sails Through the Global Economic Crisis

The Danish dry bulk and tanker shipping company Norden is optimistic in the middle of the ongoing global economic crisis, reports Channelnewsasia.com.

Norden have just bought new ships and have already ordered 30 more. They see a upswing in the market and the company wants to be ready for market’s demands.

“We are seeing a lot of coal being imported to China, but also to a number of other Southeast Asian countries and that’s good for shipping,” says Peter Borup, managing director & senior vice president, Norden Shipping (Singapore).

Last year the company fired 15 percent of their employees and sold 17 ships but now it seems like the boat has turned around.
