King Carl Gustaf Led the Celebrations of the Sweden Pavilion Day

The Shanghai World Expo celebrated Sweden Pavilion Day yesterday. Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf led a delegation of 50 people, including the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Maud Olofsson, to join in the celebrations.

Shanghai Party Secretary Yu Zhengsheng congratulated the nation on the occasion. He said the Sweden Pavilion, with the theme of “Spirit of Innovation,” shed light on innovation. The pavilion showcases Swedes’ love of nature and city as well as their spirit of innovation, he noted.

Gustaf said the Expo provides a very good arena for the world to explore solutions in addressing a series of challenges in cities’ sustainable development and creating more livable city life.

The Swedish celebrated with a Sino-Sweden collaboration in the evening – local dancer Jin Xing put on a fashion show featuring Swedish designers’ creations.

The Sweden Pavilion, with its facade of a Stockholm street map that shines at night, aims to explore harmonious connections between cities.
