Danish MPs broach transparent lawmaking process in Vietnam

In early October, a delegation from the Danish Parliament is visiting colleagues in the Vietnamese National Assembly to discuss organisation of local government and public consultations in the law making process. “Both sides indeed appreciated the open and frank character of the debate on how to continuously improve and strengthen the law making process in the interest of our peoples”, head of the Danish delegation MP Mette Reissmann, said.

“Denmark has provided support for key issues of development in Vietnam. This roundtable focuses on two key issues in the legislative agenda of the Vietnamese National Assembly at the moment. ” says Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the National Assembly.

Mette Reissmann concluded after the round table; “We hope that we within the strong and sound bilateral comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Denmark can continue this type of open and constructive exchange of opinions and experiences not only in the political area but also in commercial and cultural affairs”.

The Danish delegation will also meet with the Law committee of the National Assembly in Hanoi as well as visit Danish companies present in Vietnam.
