Danish Minister of Environment & Food in Malaysia

The Embassy of Denmark in Kuala Lumpur is hosting the Danish Minister of Environment & Food, Esben Lunde Larsen, on a visit to Malaysia on 13 – 15 April 2016. The Minister will hold political talks and explore market opportunities within food, agriculture and fisheries, as well as within clean-tech and is accompanied by a business delegation and representatives from the Danish Agriculture & Trade Council as well as the Confederation of Danish Industry.

A packed two-day programme is lined up for Minister Larsen. Besides bilateral meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, he will open a forum on modernization of poultry farming as well as one on aquaculture and water technologies, and witness two signing ceremonies among Danish and Malaysian companies. He will also get to experience rural Malaysia with visits to a chicken farm and a palm oil plantation.

The Minister will round off the visit to Malaysia by promoting Danish food products in the Danish residence together with top chefs from the Kokkelandsholdet – National Culinary Team of Denmark and Berjaya University College of Hospitality, School of Culinary Arts, who will also be showing their skills at the final National Day (Queen’s Birthday) Reception, Friday evening.

The Embassy anticipates a productive visit.
