Nicolaj Kristensen, 37, was charged with drinking an intoxicating drink in public in violation of a city ordinance, alarm and scandal, and direct assault upon an agent or a person in authority, for resisting arrest and insulting arresting police officers.

According to reports, at around 3 a.m. on Monday, Kristensen apparently lost his control and struggled while police apprehended him for violation of City Ordinance 31, which has prohibited the drinking of intoxicating beverages in public, especially along the sidewalks and streets.

Earlier, police said they saw Kristensen walking alone along P. Burgos St. holding a bottle of beer. They walked past him but called his attention after a female complainant asked them to arrest Kristensen who was drunk and had been telling her cuss words.

Kristensen retaliated and called her and the others witnessing the commotion as “bitch,” “whore” and “lady boy.” He also tore off the pocket and lineyard of arresting officer, Police Officer 1 Raffy Ambrocio, while cops were trying to pacify him.

PO1 Ambrocio said Kristensen started shouting invectives and “fake police” when he and PO2 Edgardo Zervoulakos got him to ride a tricycle mobile to the barangay (village) hall.

He was detained in Barangay Poblacion hall but was released immediately as he started bumping his head hard on the wall. Loose wires in the detention area that might get him electrocuted forced the police to take him out. He broke a glass mirror in the barangay center and tried to flee to J.P. Rizal but police caught him. He tried to escape again from the police by rushing towards and hitting his head against the entrance glass door of the Ospital ng Makati but the door did not open.

Kristensen is currently detained at Makati Police Station.

Earlier, a female bystander near a convenience store told the police that Kristensen asked if she had valium, a drug used to treat anxiety disorders, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, or muscle spasms.
