On 28 July 2015, the EU Delegation and diplomats from EU Member States met with members of the New Democracy Movement – NDM, members of their families, and their lawyers. The EU believes in the right of all to express peacefully their opinions and calls upon the Thai authorities to abide by Thailand’s obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms must be upheld, and military courts should not be used to try civilians.
