About the speakers

Sandra Seah is the joint managing partner of our office in Singapore.

She has extensive experience in M&A and regulatory work in Singapore, and currently acts as the legal advisor to a number of regulators, including Energy Market Authority, Building & Construction Authority, and Jurong Town Corporation. Sandra is an experienced transactional lawyer for large scale utility projects, public procurement, built to suit developments and innovative state leasing and strata management projects.
Sandra has spoken widely on corporate governance and competition issues. She is also the co-author of Business Guide to Competition Law, (published by Sweet & Maxwell). She sits on the council of industry associations such as SEAS, ESI and WMRAS and is a director of a local children’s charity.

Alexander Shepherd is a partner of Bird & Bird LLP in the global Tech & Comms Group. He is based in Singapore.

An England and Wales qualified lawyer, Alex specialises in the legal, commercial and regulatory aspects of telecommunications, IT, technology and eCommerce matters. His key area of practice is advising on technology procurement and regulated outsourcings for financial institutions, investment funds and insurance companies. In addition, he advises a wide-range of technology and telecoms companies on all commercial and regulatory aspects of their businesses.

Goh Seow Hui is a partner in our Employment Group based in Singapore.

She has significant commercial litigation and international arbitration experience, and has over her years of practice developed a specialist focus in employment disputes. She regularly represents and advises Fortune 500 companies and listed entities in relation to key employment issues with the goal of protecting employers’ commercial interests.

Seow Hui also handles the day-to-day drafting and review of employment contracts, employee handbooks/manuals, executive compensation and benefits, international assignments, employee transfers in the M&A context, international reductions-in-force and business immigration matters.

Jonathan Kao is a senior associate in our Corporate & Commercial Group based in Singapore, with a particular focus on technology-based transactions.

Jonathan has been part of a variety of projects and transactions including the acquisition, test-bedding and implementation of new technologies, data protection and privacy, competition, corporate governance and capital markets advisory work, as well as commercial & industrial real estate transactions. He has also assisted in several IP licensing transactions and maintains a keen interest in the areas of media and technology, and information security.

Tony Quek is an associate in our Corporate & Commercial practice group based in Singapore.

Tony’s experience includes assisting in a variety of general corporate matters, with a focus on the energy and environment sectors and the corporate secretarial practice. He has also been involved in employment matters.
