Malaysia to introduce Finland-inspired vocational education model

A plan to make the country’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) a mainstream choice for students and on par with the system in developed nations is underway.autonasennut

Polytechnic director-general Datuk Mohlis Jaafar said the plan takes its inspiration from Finland’s education system which is recognised globally as one of the best in the world.

“In Malaysia, TVET has always been associated as the ‘second option’ students take whenever they are not qualified to enter the university. We want to change that by upgrading TVET and ensuring that in the future students will make it as a first option instead of second.
