A large delegation from the Malaysian state Melaka is in Copenhagen to seek inspiration on energy efficiency and waste management.

The delegation is led by the Melaka governor Tun Yaakob and Chief Minister Datuk Idris Haron. Earlier this year the state of Melaka made a Green City Action Plan to make the state more environmentally friendly by developing energy, water, transport and waste sectors.

The Action Plan is part of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Green Cities Initiative.

A project to improve energy efficiency in nine State-owned buildings in Melaka is underway with Danish Energy Management contracted as consultants to implement the project.
