A 35-year-old Finnish tourist has been sentenced to four weeks in jail after acting violently against policemen in Singapore, as he was reported to be naked and looking drunk in a hotel lobby, writes Straits Times.
The sentence is still “light” as the offence he was accused of – causing hurt to a public servant in the discharge of his duty – could have led to several years in prison, in addition to fines.
The Finn was spotted in the lobby of Fragrance Hotel in Selegie Road in March this year. When two police officers arrived, they found him lying in a back alley nearby in just his underwear.
