Norway’s NTNU Launches Masters Program in Myanmar

Industry Minister Monica Mæland marked the opening of Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)’s new master’s program in Myanmar. ntnu

The new master program at Yangon Institute of Economics in Yangon is administered by NTNU and sponsored by Norwegian companies Telenor, Statoil, DNV GL and SN Power. Most subjects will be taught by professionals from NTNU.

– Lack of trained and qualified manpower is a challenge for Norwegian companies establishing themselves in Myanmar. The commissioning of this master’s program is a good example of this. A win-win situation for Norway and Myanmar, says trade minister Monica Mæland.

The new master’s program in executive management is to ensure highly qualified manpower for Myanmar and Norwegian companies establishing themselves in the country, writes a press release by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
