Outokumpu delivers the world’s largest stainless steel facade to China

Finnish Outokumpu, the global steel company, is delivering the world’s largest stainless steel facade to China. The facade will be provided for the skyscraper hosting Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, China. The 600 meters tall building is expected to be finished in April 2016, and it is set to be the highest skyscraper in China and the second highest in the world, reports Good News! in Finland this week.

According to Outokumpu, stainless steel has become a preferred material for architectural facades because of its qualities. The material keeps building well insulated, and it is corrosion resistant. Outokumpu has provided high quality stainless steel also to other skyscrapers such as the 80 years old Chrysler Building in the USA and the new Burj Khalifa in Dubai which is the tallest building in the world.

Outokumpu’s stainless steel is used in applications ranging from cutlery to bridges, energy and medical equipment. The company employs more than 15 000 professionals in more than 40 countries. The company’s headquarters is located in Espoo, Finland.
