Sweden-SEA trade in focus for Mikael Damberg in Singapore

On 20 – 22 September Sweden’s Business and Innovation Minister Mikael Damberg visits Singapore. Mikael Damberg participates in the inaugural Sweden-Southeast Asia Business Summit where corporate executives and decision makers from Sweden and Southeast Asia gathers. The minister will also meet with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Singapore’s Industry and Trade and visit an eco campus at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He will also visit the Southeast Asia headquarters for Spotify.

Sweden and Singapore this year celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations. The two countries have close cooperation in areas such trade, defense, research and education. There are at position 250 Swedish companies established in Singapore, which together employ about 7000 people.

The Swedish embassy, Business Sweden and the Business Association of Entrepreneurs, SBAS together, “Team Sweden” in Singapore and have a common mission to promote Sweden and Swedish business interests in the region.

Mikael Damberg will during his visit also have bilateral meetings with Singapore’s Industry and Trade Minister Lim Hng Kiang and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugarathnam.
