On 28 February 2016 a seminar was arranged at Shanghai University where 7 Swedish companies described their work with sustainability and CSR to an audience of the university’s EMBA students and other invited guests.

The participating Swedish companies were H&M, Electrolux, SCA, Mannheimer & Swartling, Scandic Sourcing, Permobil and Jade Invest.

These companies represent different industries but are all leaders in sustainability in their branch of industry. Their sustainability goes beyond the traditional care for environment and labour relations.

H&M described for example their new system of taking clothes back from consumers and reusing the textile material.

The law firm Mannheimer & Swartling described how it helped many clients to set up whistle blower systems to allow for anonymous information from staff.

Permobil described how it development of battery powered wheelchairs could help severely handicapped to integrate in today’s life and even integrate in the labour market.

SCA and Scandic Sourcing described the complicated work of sourcing to make sure that all relevant aspects were adhered to.

Jade Invest told about sustainability aspects in evaluation of investment decisions.

CEOs of these companies were also invited by Shanghai University to be mentors to EMBA students and the first meetings with students were held.
