On 24 March 2017 Norway’s Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Kjetil Paulsen, met with representatives from the Ministry of Energy in Thailand to discuss the Norwegian energy sector and how Norway manages its ownership and revenues from the petroleum industry.
In the meeting Deputy Director-General of the Department of Mineral Fuels in the Ministry of Energy, Mr Sarawut Kaewtathip explained how Thailand could learn from Norway’s successful management of the ownership of and revenues from petroleum resources.
The discussion centered on Norway’s state ownership policy, the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global and the state owned oil company Petoro, all important elements in Norway’s effective petroleum management system.
