A survey of 2000 Danes shows that Thailand is the second most popular destination for Danes fleeing the cold weather and fatty Christmas food.

After Gran Canaria – Thailand is the most popular destination when around 40.000 Danes are travelling south this Christmas. And according to a survey made by Star Tours it is a first timer for a lot of them.

“Our yearly Christmas survey shows that one in three who travels during Christmas is doing it for the first time. 36 percent have tried it before and 23 percent travels every Christmas,” Stig Elling sales director in Star Tours says.

Only a minority choose to pack anything associated with a traditional Danish Christmas.

“Our survey shows that one in four brings presents on their Christmas vacation, 7 percent brings Christmas decorations and 6 percent brings food and other edible goods. 6 out of 10 choose not to celebrate Christmas at all,” Stig Elling says.
