Approximately 300 business associates of the Danish Embassy in Beijing and other invited guests attended the celebration of Danish National Day on Tuesday 5th June. The guests including Mr. Song Tao, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and several Ambassadors celebrated this special day with a reception at the residence of the Danish Ambassador to China, Friis Arne Petersen.
During celebration, a diploma of the Danish Export Association and HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour was presented. The diploma is awarded to individuals or companies located outside Denmark – including Danish subsidiaries.
Danish fashion brand ECCO was awarded with this medal in recognition of their outstanding effort in promoting sales of Danish products and services abroad. In the selection of the candidates the companies are judged on remarkable performance over time as well as growth rate and size. A unique initiative or extraordinary efforts on a market with challenging conditions may also qualify for a nomination. The Medal of Honour is managed by a committee consisting of HRH Prince Henrik, four representatives appointed by The Danish Export Association and a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
