Innovative Sweden siminar held in Singapore

The Embassy of Sweden in Singapore together with Singapore Business Federation recently organized the seminar “Innovation Sweden: Business Seminar & Networking Session”.

More than a hundred representatives from Singaporean and Swedish companies participated in the seminar. Speakers from the Swedish companies ABB, Ericsson, IKEA, Tetra Pak and Volvo gave key insights into the successful Swedish model of how companies have managed to commercialize innovation and stay innovative.

The participants also had the unique opportunity to listen to speakers from Vinnova (Swedish agency promoting innovation), Kista Science City and Innovationsbron. The President of Nanyang Technological University, Bertil Andersson, enlightened the audience on an important part of innovation – the close collaboration between universities, research institutes and the private sector.

The seminar was completed with an evening buffet dinner at the Swedish residence, hosted by Ambassador Ingemar Dolfe. Invited guests had the opportunity to further network with potential business contacts and share ideas on innovation.

“Sweden and Singapore enjoy a very close and fruitful co-operation in many areas, not only trade but also in research, education and defence. Both Sweden and Singapore highlight the importance of Innovation and Research – and we find that creativity is an important foundation for future growth,” stated in a news release from the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore.
