Danes No Longer Need Visa For Vietnam

The background for the Vietnamese decision to drop the demand for visas in connection with shorter stays in Vietnam has to do with the improving bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Denmark (and the other Scandinavian countries). The visit of Vietnam’s Vice Prime Minister Vu Khoan to Denmark in the fall of 2004 has had an affect on this.

The visa exception is bound up on the following conditions:

The stay in Vietnam must be shorter than 15 days.
The traveler must have a passport which is valid for a minimum of 90 days from the date of entry.
The traveler must have a valid return ticket or documentation for exit within 15 days from the date of entry.
Any stay/visit to Vietnam which will last longer than 15 days will require a visa, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
