The Swedish Government has stated that it will continue its legal process against exiled leader of the separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM) Hasan Tiro who has changed his nationality into Swedish.
Director of the West European Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Retno LP Marsudi told the press about it after a meeting between Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda and Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds in Jakarta on Wednesday 9 March 2005.
“No agreement was reached in the meeting, but Sweden offers its support by saying that the Sweden is ready to settle GAM issue, just let us know,” Retno quoted the Swedish Foreign Minister as saying.
It was said that Hasan Tiro is a matter of Swedish law, it meant that the legal process was still underway.
“We just asked for their support to the ongoing legal process,” he said.
