Thai Airways Accepts Danish Fine For Inappropriate Ad Campaign

In the summer of 2003, Thai Airways ran a nation-wide campaign in Denmark, which promised customers that they would automatically take part in a lottery for tickets to Thailand if they purchased airfares with Thai Airways. The Danish consumers’ ombudsman deemed that the campaign was in violation of the Danish ban on purchase-conditioned competitions, and charges were subsequently pressed against Thailand’s largest airline.

The charges later resulted in a fine of 100,000 DKK, which Thai Airways have now agreed to pay, according to Danish media.
