Welcome Night for New Ambassador Comes with Taste of Norway

The Taste of Norway event was held on November 6 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur in honor of the new Norwegian ambassador to Malaysia, Arild Braastad, and his wife Nina, according to the Star Online Malaysia.
The event started with a cocktail gathering outside the grand ballroom before the dinner began an hour later after the introduction to the spectacular seafood buffet by renowned Norwegian Chef Frank Arne Naesheim.
Naesheim, the owner of the company Snorre Food based in Singapore, said the fresh seafood were imported from Norway and prepared in true Norwegian style.
Some of the foods were presented in Western and Asian cooking styles such as Chinese, Japanese, Malay, Indian and Thai.
“However, we worked to suit some of the recipes to the local taste,” Naesheim added.
After the delicious dinner, the night was entertained by Norwegian jazz saxophonist Bodil Niska and her quartet, with Per Husby on the piano, Stig Hvalryg on bass and Roger Johansen on percussion.
