Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam Presented His Letter of Credentials

The new Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam Rolf Bergman on October 25 presented his letter of Credentials, whereby His Majesty the King of Sweden has accredited him to serve as his Ambassador to the Socialist republic of Vietnam, to the state President of Vietnam.
Speaking at the function, the ambassador Rolf Bergman confirmed his strong commitment to maintain and further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
“I assume my post with feelings of great responsibility and expectation. I shall make every effort to maintain and further develop the ties of friendship that so happily exist between Sweden and Vietnam,” he stated.
The relationship between the two countries is based on mutual trust and understanding and it has developed substantially throughout the years.
“Development cooperation is one of the cornerstones in the relations between our two countries with poverty alleviation as the overall goal and with the further development of democracy and human rights as important element,” the newly appointed ambassador continued.
In the business and investment area, he stated that the relations have become increasingly important in bilateral ties and there have been a substantial surge in the trade during the last few years.
Moreover, other areas such as tourism and cultural exchange will also hopefully play an increasingly important role in the bilateral relations.
