Maersk Line Wins “Best Shipping Line – Asia-Europe”

Maersk Line emerged winner of the ‘Best Shipping Line – Asia-Europe’ Award for the 21st consecutive year at the 22nd
Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA).
Specifically on the Asia-Europe route, volumes from Asia to Europe increased by 18 per
cent in 2007. As winner of the ‘Best Shipping Line – Asia-Europe’ Award, Maersk Line
today has eleven extensive strings on the Asia-Europe route, of which the latest Asia-
Europe 11 or AE11 route was introduced to support shipments from Asia to Spain.
Restructuring of the Asia-Europe routes has also brought enhanced coverage of markets
in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea.
Jesper Praestensgaard, Chief Executive for Maersk Line Asia-Pacific said:
“I am very happy that customers have shown their support for Maersk Line by voting for us. At
Maersk Line, we introduced the new StreamLINE strategy in January this year. A core
focus of StreamLINE is to raise the bar on reliable customer service delivery by providing
faster, more responsive service to customers. Maersk Line country organisations are now
also equipped with greater autonomy to make decisions that are closer to customers.
We have already started to see improvements in our day-to-day business processes and
interaction with customers, since the implementation of StreamLINE”.
The 22nd AFSCA was held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore and marks one of the
longest standing and most renowned maritime awards in Asia.
