Thai Woman in Denmark Faces Deportation

After five years in Denmark Nonlak Arjjinda from Thailand is going to be expulsed because of her poor affiliation to Denmark.

Nonlak Arjjinda, who currently lives Stavreby on Falster, originally came to Denmark to marry her former husband, but left him because of domestic violence. She is now fully supporting herself by working as a cleaning assistant on the ferries to Germany – so the Thai woman and her new Danish boyfriend Martin Achton Simonsen are uncomprehending about the decision of the Danish state.

“We are just two ordinary people, who want to get married, why is she going to get kicked out of the country?” they ask in the newspaper Avisen.dk.

The couple has appealed judgement and states that they plan to go to Thailand to get married and apply for a new visa if the decision is carried out.
