Swedish Firm Teaches Vietnamese Students Recycling

Students and teachers from 200 primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City will be trained in recycling and waste management this year as part of a Swedish company’s environmental education program in Vietnam.

The Swedish packaging equipment and material firm Tetra Pak Vietnam will teach students and their teachers how to sort waste for recycling and working with local youth and their schools to organize an Environment Day festival.

For the past years, the company has held the festival of games and activities geared toward teaching students about environmental protection in February or March. This year, the company will also present some of the participating schools with 100 waste containers in total.

Since the campaign was launched in 2005, the program has worked with the municipal Department of Education and Training to train more than 400 principals and teachers at the city’s primary schools in environmental protection
