United Plantations Denies Allegations

Among other things, Politiken wrote that United Plantations of Malaysia exposes its workers to deadly pesticides – including ”Agent Paraquat”, which even in very small doses can lead to poisoning, which destroys the lungs.

”All United Plantation workers, who deals with pesticides, are fully equipped with protective gear. Also, they are every month instructed in correct handling of the pesticides and the neccesity of wearing protective gear,” says Vice Chairman of United Plantations, Carl Bek-Nielsen, adding:

”Furthermore, all pesticide workers have a monthly health check, and all pesticides are approved.”

Later today United Plantation will issue another press release in which they will fully refute all of the allegations, says the company.
