CAT slashes call rates to Denmark, Norway

Thailand’s CAT Telecom Pcl. early July announced a promotion whereby CAT has slashed to seven baht a minute its eFone 009 charges on international calls from Thailand to 30 countries, including Denmark and Norway, regardless of what time of the day the call is made.
The other 28 countries covered by the new discounted rate are: the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Guam, Indonesia, Brunei, Korea, Italy, Macau, Brazil, Israel, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Kuwait and South Africa.
To make a discounted call to any of the above countries using the eFone 009 service, dial 009 + country code + area code + telephone number. This works on both a fixed-line phone (except TOT Corp’s numbers) and a mobile phone of any Thai network provider. Users of TOT’s fixed-line phone have to use a prefix 001-809 instead of 009 in order to get the discounted rate.
An even cheaper rate of six baht per minutes to all the 30 countries is also offered via CAT PhoneNet, which is available in form of 300- and 500-baht cards at CAT Telecom Shops, post offices, leading department stores and retail outlets.
With the PhoneNet cards, callers must dial 1544, then enter the card’s PIN Code (found under a scratch-off patch), press “#” followed by 009 + country code + area code + telephone number, and then press “#” again.
The eFone and PhoneNet promotion lasts until December 31 this year.
The charges of international calls via the e-Fone service to Denmark and Norway was formerly 18 baht per minute.
