Minister Jari Koskinen visits Korea and China

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland Jari Koskinen visits the Republic of Korea on 24–25 October and China on 26–28 October.


In China the main event on the agenda is the signing of memorandums of understanding to allow the export of Finnish oats and pork to China. The negotiations on their content took several years, and the agreement which now has been reached offers significant opportunities to the Finnish meat sector. On behalf of China the memorandum is signed by the Minister of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.


The visit to Beijing includes a meeting between Minister Koskinen and the Chinese Minister of Agriculture, as well as a Finnish-Chinese forest seminar. The topics for the Ministry of Agriculture include current agriculture issues and export of Finnish foodstuffs and agricultural machinery to China. The forest seminar aims to improve contacts between enterprises. At the seminar Minister Koskinen also meets the Vice Minister of China’s State Forestry Administration.


The business delegation is comprised of top executives of Atria, HK Scan and Valtra.
