Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” in Jakarta

Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” adapted to Indonesia and entitled “Rumah Boneka”. Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, 30 November-4 December 2011, Time: 8 pm. The performance is set up by Institut Ungu and Pentas Indonesia with the support of the Norwegian Embassy.

The play is translated, adapted and produced by Faiza Mardzoeki, Director Wawan Sofwan in Bahasa Indonesia with English Subtitles. The music has been composed by Marcello Pellitteri, an internationally renowned musician from New York.


Rumah Boneka, tells the story of a middle class family in present day Jakarta, a married couple that struggles with reevaluating the values of marriage and the circumstances of their family. Rumah Boneka also invites the audience to rethink their stand on morality, religion, and the social mentality facing corruption and hypocrisy.
