Danish Crown Prince on horseback around the lake in Hanoi

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark will the 29th November ride on horseback around the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi with the Minister for Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang. The ride is one of the many events, that the Danish crown prince will lead in connection with the diplomatic 40 year anniversary between Vietnam and Denmark. During the visit, the Crown Prince will be accompanied by the Danish minister for trade and investment, Pia Olsen Dyhr.


Crown Prince Frederik, will arrive directly from a Danish trade promotion arrangement in Australia. He is scheduled to arrive Hanoi on 27 November, where he is leading a new Danish trade promotion, first in Hanoi and later in HCMC. The visit ends on 1 December.


The Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan is behind the official invitation of Crown Prince Frederik. This is done at the behest of a campaign dealing with Climate Change.


Denmark and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in 1971. In 1980, Denmark opened an Embassy in Hanoi and in 2000, Vietnam opened an embassy in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Relations between the two countries is primarily in development cooperation. Vietnam is one of the fastest developing country in Asia. At the same time also Vietnam needs to develop its strengths in areas such as oil and gas, green growth.
