Participants will meet at O.P. Garden, formerly known as Mango Tree, Charoenkrung Soi 36, at 2 pm. It is located on the right-hand side of Soi 36, about 50 meters from Charoenkrung. Here they will hear a bit about the start of The East Asiatic Company in Thailand over a coffee.

They will then walk about 300 m. to the Company’s old head office. For safety reasons’ the building can only be seen from the outside.

The tour will then go by express boat from the pier in front of the EAC office to Wat Rajsingkorn. From there the participants will walk about 500 m. to the protestant cemetery, where they will learn about some of the Scandinavians interred here, who have made a contribution to history in Thailand.

From the cemetery there is a short walk to Asiatique where some of the buildings remains that used to be part of EAC’s activities in the past.

The exploration will end with dinner at Brick Bistro, located in the middle of Asiatique.

There will be no participation fee for members as participants will pay for their own coffee and dinner. However, for logistical purposes, the organizer needs to know who will participate not later than Monday 22nd January.

Please advise whether you will participate in the dinner or only in the tour.
