International School Bangkok (ISB) to Celebrate Creativity and Diversity in BACC Exhibition

International School Bangkok (ISB) is thrilled to announce the opening of its unique and dynamic exhibition in the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC) from May 1 – 13, 2018.

ISB

Entitled “Color Now,” the ISB exhibition brings together a exceptional selection of art created and submitted by students during the 2017-18 school year. The presentation highlights student work from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, taking advantage of a variety of visual mediums. The exhibition is a joyful expression of diversity, creativity and color.

The exhibition brings to light ISB’s time-honored commitment to helping students develop their personal strengths and find their own unique voices. The pieces on display are as diverse as their creators, with the featured artists themselves representing a variety of nationalities, ages, personal backgrounds, learning styles and levels of experience. In turn, the exhibition’s curators have carefully arranged the selected artwork along a spectrum of colors, reflecting visually and thematically the beautiful synergy that can be found in varying ideas.

In many ways, ‘Color Now’ illustrates the guiding focus of ISB’s education. ISB encourages the development of necessary skills, such as creative thinking, adaptability and self-management while also allowing students to experience the value of community and the joy of successful collaboration. ISB inspires students to progress to their personal potential, in a nurturing environment where their unique ideas and voice are always welcome. The upcoming exhibition weaves these individual contributions into a mosaic of viewpoints whose combined emotional effect is a delight to experience.

A satisfying sense of cohesion is achieved throughout ‘Color Now’, even as it features a variety of artistic formats and styles. This unifying element is the feeling of excitement and inspiration that suffuses each work on display. When children are truly included and listened to, they achieve a sense of belonging that is essential for healthy development. Inspiration soon follows, together with the pride that comes with making a personal, meaningful contribution to a common goal.

‘Color Now’ is a celebration of this process for ISB students. It marks a milestone in the lives of the young artists whose works are featured, and a valuable reminder for parents, teachers, and children alike that we all have our own individual ways of seeing. Our view of the world helps make us who we are, and should therefore be encouraged, cultivated, and appreciated at every stage of life. There is a lesson in this wondrous collection for all of us, young and old – that the beauty of living comes from the amazing variety of human experience, and that we should all take the time to cherish it.

The exhibition will be open to the public for the first two weeks of May. For more information about ISB or its exhibition, visit: www.isb.ac.th/colornow or contact: +66 2 963 5800. To get in touch with BACC directly, e-mail [email protected] or call 02 2146630 -8 Ext. 501-503.
