And coinciding with the run – which will take place in five of Denmark’s largest cities – is a small group of Chinese pedagogues learning about the Danish way of taking care of children – the Scandinavian approach to pedagogy, according to GBTimes.

And on the occassion, when the Crown Prince will be running 10 kilometers through Copenhagen, 25 Chinese exchange workers will be following him, hopefully keeping up.

Since the autumn of 2017 China has send two groups of pedagagues to Denmark for longer periods to study and learn, and this is the third delegation visiting.

The Danish methods has caught the attention of China in the recent years, especially since free play not exactly is a main part of the curriculum in Chinese kindergartens:

“Children play everywhere; inside, outside, all day long, and the kids are strong and healthy. You don’t hear pedagogues say, ‘don’t do this, don’t do that’. Danish kids have the freedom to be kids, physically and mentally,” says Dong Ruixiang, initiator of the H.C. Andersen International Kindergarten College.

The delegations will be leaving again on May 25th.
