Danida promotes aquaculture tech in Indonesia

The Danish government on 5 March 2014 released a new strategy on aquaculture. The aim is to make the industry more sustainable by using green technologies and increase export of Danish expertise and aquaculture systems.den_indo_aqua

Aquaculture includes both fish, shrimp, sea weed and other sea foods. It is therefore specifically relevant for a country like Indonesia, due to a growing middle class that increasingly demand sustainably produced fish and sea food, and a need to address fundamental food security.

The embassy’s Danida Business Partnership programme is currently working with Danish and Indonesian companies on a aquaculture project in Indonesia with the aim of implementing Danish technology and knowhow in an Indonesian setting.
