Danish Ambassador marked world diabetes day in Myanmar

The Danish Ambassador to Myanmar delivered speech at the world diabetes day ceremony on 14 November and also opened a diabetes center funded by Danish Novo Nordisk.

World Diabetes Day was commemorated at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar, where Danish Ambassador John Nielsen addressed the ceremony.

The Ambassador congratulated the Government for its effort to improve the health of people in Myanmar by the hugely increased budget on health and the commitment to ensure universal healthcare coverage by 2030, according to the Embassy of Denmark in Myanmar.

A Diabetes Center of Excellence was also opened at the Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital to mark the international world diabetes. The Danish Ambassador jointly opened the Center together with the Union Minister for Health and Sports H.E. Dr. Myint Htwe, and representatives from parliaments and Novo Nordisk.
