Klubb Norge, Shanghai celebrates Norwegian Constitution Day in the sun

The date of May 17, which marks the Norwegian Constitution Day was celebrated not only in Norway, but also by Norwegian expatriates allover Southeast Asia. The different chapters of Klubb Norge (Club Norway) in China were a big part of that, and in Shanghai 280 people participated in the celebrations.
After days with rain, the sun finally came out and adults, students and kids had a great day. The event took place at Emerald Compound, Pudong, on May 11, a few days before the actual Constitution Day.
Even tough it was not celebrated on the actually constitution day, Klubb Norge Shanghai had arrange for all of the traditional ingredients; brass band (Chinese brass band playing all the traditional Norwegian songs) food, games, lucky draw and singing.
The Norwegian seaman priest held a great speech. As this is a day for the kids, off course there were lots of ice cream, children’s choir, the traditional children parade with flags and whistles and lots of Chinese giveaways.
