Dancham elects new President and Vice-President

Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce (DTCC) has elected Dr. Supareak Chomchan as new President and Mr. Stiig Weaver as new Vice-President of the Chamber.

Both were elected 3 August 2018 at the DTCC Board meeting after former President Mr. Joachim Hviid Schalck resigned from the position due to personal reasons.

Dr. Supareak Chomchan was Vice-President before he took over the position of President and has been a part of the board for 5 years.

“Dr. Supareak Chomchan has the finger on the pulse in the Thai business community,” say Secretary-General in DTCC, Michael Andersen, to ScandAsia.

With a Thai on the President post, it will become easier to promote DTCC among Thai businesses, explains Michael Andersen.

Mr. Chomchan has also been involved in the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT), which is an umbrella organization for the foreign business community in Thailand.

New Vice-President Mr. Stiig Weaver has former experience working with non-profit organizations and board work.

DTCC members will elect their board of directors as usual at the next annual general meeting in March, whereafter the board members constitute themselves. At this point, Dr. Supareak Chomchan may be re-elected or replaced as President.
