Event Details


Come and join the big celebration of Norway’s birthday 17 May 2016. It will be a day for the whole family to gather and have a pleasant day. This year 17 May – Norway’s Constitution Day will be celebrated at Sjømannskirken from 4.30-6.30. After, the Norwegian Ambassador Tormod C. Endresen and his wife Elisabeth, invite to a reception in the Norwegian residence at 7.30 (for attending the reception, please respond before 12 May here with password: nasjonaldag)


The celebrations at Sjømannskirken consists of entertaiment, fun, and play for the entire family. The famous Norwegian boys’ choir from Nidarosdomen are visiting Singapore at this time, and 60 boys will perform with their beautiful voices in the church, thanks to the Norwegian Det norske oljeselskap.

The traditional “stunt korps” Kirkebakken Janitsjar will also perform on this day, and of course there will be a 17 May-parade. There will be sausauges, lapskaus, and ice cream served. Come and join in the Norwegian spirit!


Respond before 10 May 2016. The registration is valid when payment has been confirmed.

Sjømannskirken recommends everyone to take a cab, bus, or MRT. No parking or drop-off at the church area. Bring an umbrella.
