The current reforms being undertaken for Thailand is catching the attention of many people in Thailand, with regard to the direction for the planned reforms for ‘Thailand going forward’ – especially in the Private Sector, which must be well-prepared to meet the imminent changes. The Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) that has more than 3,000 Members, who are corporate Directors and Senior Management of leading companies in Thailand, comprising of 90% Thais and 10% foreigners working in Thailand, and who are considered to be important people within the Thai business sector with a vital role in driving the implementation of good corporate governance practices to be in line with the key national policies. As such, it is important that not only corporate Directors in Thailand but also foreigners coming into Thailand to operate their businesses must both have a good understanding of the correct direction of the planned reforms of country in ‘going forward’. This understanding will enable them to be fully confident in conducting their businesses in Thailand, as well as in being an important mouthpiece to communicate to and further create confidence among the international community, in regards to Thailand’s ability in ‘going forward’.
Therefore, the IOD has invited various foreign Chambers of Commerce operating in Thailand to participate in and attend a conference under the theme of: Meeting the Reformers: Thailand Going Forward. This important event will facilitate IOD Members and these key foreign Chambers of Commerce to meet and learn about the direction of such planned reforms from those havingan important role and also being directly responsible for implementing the reforms themselves.
