Event Details

Scandinavian Society Siam is delighted to invite you and your friends for a Sunday afternoon exploring a historical part of Bangkok on 1 November 2015.

Program:

The event will begin 2pm at Mango Tree, Charoenkrung Soi 36, Bangkok. Coffee will be served along with a little speech about the start of The East Asiatic Company in Thailand.

Later, everyone will have a look at the company’s old head office before taking the boat from Oriental Hotel to Asiatique. Here there will be a guide leading to the protestant cemetary, and Scandinavian Society Siam will tell about some of the Scandinavians who have made a contribution to history of Thailand.

There will also be time to go back to Asiatique and see some of the buildings that used to be part of EAC’s activities in the past.

The exploration will end with dinner in Joe Louis, which used to be a bachelor’s mess for young EAC staff.

There will be no participation fee as participants will pay for their own coffee and dinner.
However for logistical purposes, we need to know who will participate no later than Monday 26 October 2015.

Reservations can be made to: treasurer@sss.or.th – please advise whether you will participate in the dinner or only in the tour.
