Event Details

To mark the 250th anniversary of the world’s oldest press law, the Freedom of the Press Act, the Finnish and Swedish embassies in Bangkok with support from UNESCO Bangkok, the Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA), and the Swedish Institute, will hold a panel discussion under the theme: “The Challenges of Protecting Press Freedom in a Divided World”.

The panel discussion will take place on 15 February 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand. Opening speeches will be given by the Finnish and Swedish Ambassadors. The event is open for public, but advance registration is highly appreciated.

The discussion will kick off after keynote speeches by Swedish Ambassador Staffan Herrström, Finnish Ambassador Satu Suikkari-Kleven, and UNESCO Bangkok Director Gwang-Jo Kim. Members of the public are welcome, but advance registration is highly appreciated.
