Finnish tourist dead in Pai

Police officers carefully examining the room in Yokmaneedoi resort in Pai where which Finnish national Mr. Kari Aleksander Rajasalo was found dead on Tuesday morning. They found no signs of a struggle and no presence of any medication.

A Finnish national was Tuesday morning found dead in his hotel room in Pai, Mae Hong Son Province in northern Thailand. The deceased is identified as 65-year old Kari Aleksander Rajasalo.

Acccording to the Tourist Police Division 2 Facebook page, Mr. Rajasalo had arrived Thailand on 18 August and checked into the Yokmaneedoi resort in tambon Mae Na Toeng on Monday 19 August 2019 at 6 pm.

The deceased, who the police says was a frequent visitor to Pai, was found on the floor next to the bed by staff of the resort. There was no sign of struggle in the room and no medication was found. An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death before the body will be released to the relatives that are being informed via the Finnish embassy in Bangkok.
